I can say that without a doubt this is the harshest review essay that I have ever read. It's about a reality show called "The Swan" (or something like that) that the culture vulture executives at FOX dreamed up to (as far as I can guess) bring television depravity to a heretofore unimagined level of debasement and worthlessness. The show is premised on the repugnant American myth that physical beauty will lead to emotional well-being -- according to the voiceover at the beginning, a group of women will be put "through a brutal three month makeover," "all for the chance to become beauty queens!"

Sick, I know, but this paragraph did make me laugh:

"It's three minutes into "The Swan," and I hate every person remotely associated with this show, and so should you. The only way to express that hatred, and to send a message to Fox that evil will not triumph over good, is to refuse to watch this show, and to refuse to discuss it without shutting down the conversation entirely, as in, "Only someone with no soul could endure more than (generously) five minutes of that show."
