"Don't piss off the Boys from Alabama
You know they won't let it slide"
- Drive-By Truckers, "Boys From Alabama" from the new album "The Dirty South"

If you're like me, you probably get a little nervous when anticipating a new release from a favourite artist. The jitters are especially bad when you remember how fantastic their previous work was. How long can most artists keep it up? The Stones were brilliant from 1968 until 1972, but then they more or less lost their mojo. (Sailor suits in the "Only Rock n' Roll" video? C'mon.) Look what's happened to Paul McCartney. Revolver? Yes. Wings? Hell no.

Thank God the Truckers haven't let us down.

Weee! I'm excited about the new album. If they come around here, I'm going to go see them. Also, I have to check out the new girl in the band. An ex of mine told me she looks like me. (I kind of doubt that.)

The Magic Stick. Detroit Rock City. September 10. Be there. I will.

Score. Perhaps I will see if DuBose and Trent want to go. I hope there are tickets left.
