"Outside there's hectic action
the ice is coverin' the trees
one of 'ems interconnectin'
with my Chevrolet Caprice"
I don't actually have a Caprice, but "Mercury Topaz" doesn't fit into the rhyme scheme. However, I did manage to completely spin my car around on Burton Street today thanks to the Russian blizzard we had last night. The spin was actually quite graceful - smooth and effortless, like bounding across the surface of the moon. I managed to stay as calm as a Hindu cow throughout the whole ordeal, and my car hip-checked the opposite curb like a half-ton Jean Beliveau. I started laughing. The motorists who passed me must've thought I did it on purpose.

One time I had to 'pop the clutch' of my stalled automobile in winter outside of Mulligan's. Inexpicably, I was sorta drunk and somehow got a bum to assist me -he was giving me advice, so I made him- and then a cop, who performed an incredible, on-demand 180 to turn around and bumper my car. With friends like these, eh? It's a great pleasure to remember those bizarre circumstances.
